A test patch comes before a promise.
The paint, porosity and condition of the surface affect graffiti removal. We assess a representative area to understand the finish that may be achievable.
Target the affected area
Consider laser for a localised mark where surrounding finishes and details need careful attention.
Understand the surface
Porous brick, soft stone, render and painted backgrounds each need a different assessment.
Set realistic expectations
Paint that has penetrated the surface may leave staining or a shadow. A test area helps establish the likely result.
Plan around the property
Access, public areas and nearby occupants affect scheduling and the controls required for the work.
Choose a method that suits the surface.
The best method depends on the surface, contamination and required finish. We will tell you when another approach is more suitable.
| Consideration | Laser cleaning | Other preparation methods |
|---|---|---|
| Localised graffiti | Consider for assessed, targeted removal | Chemical or mechanical methods may also suit |
| Porous masonry | A test checks staining and surface response | Residual shadows may remain with any method |
| Painted backgrounds | The original coating may also be affected | Repainting may be more practical |
| Fragile or heritage surfaces | Specialist assessment may be needed | Do not assume any removal method is harmless |
| Public-facing areas | Plan access and a controlled work area | Site protection is needed for all methods |
Quick answers.
These surfaces may be suitable, but the paint, porosity and surface condition matter. We assess the job and use a representative test area where appropriate.
We cannot promise that before assessment. Paint can penetrate porous surfaces and leave staining or a shadow even after the surface paint is removed.
Not always. The original coating may respond to cleaning too. Tell us what the background finish is so we can assess whether removal or repainting is more practical.
These jobs need particular care and may require a specialist assessment or approval from the property owner or relevant adviser before a method is selected.
